are we making this a biweekly? i think so
After a weird and wobbly two weeks i am back with more lovely stuff to share with you all. Let’s get into it.
Even though it happens every year, Winter still seems to catch everyone off guard. May I introduce you, my chilly pals, to Uniqlo Heat Tech. It is literally a god send and even I – lover of all things cold and wintery – have had to get new stuff as the sudden drop in temp has had my nips up over the sudden cold snap. heat tech socks will literally save you and your lil trotters and the long sleeve heattech is a staple when you live in a city where the icy wind will try to cut through you even on the shortest of trips out of the house. Bonus Uniqlo fan item: the AIRism Leggings are like wearing stretchy buttery goodness – with pockets. Thanks to sweet baby angel Nat for putting me onto those.
Having long-distance friends can be a miserable thing at times but capititalizing on time together is the literally cutest. This week, gorgeous L came to town and not only did we manage a dinner and cocktails with a side of gossip, but we planned a mega wholesome morning date. Breakfast, coffee and chatting our way through a nail appointment. 10/10 recommend. This your reminder to do more wholesome stuff with your friends everyone.
Speaking of cute dates, I was invited this Saturday to go join my friend Paula at Matchasome for a tasting (I am firmly aware of the taste as a regular) and a talk with Viola Beuscher on the design of their latest collab. It was mega cute and personally I was chuffed at how much I could keep up with the German. Also there were cute dogs and that just really is the fastest way to my heart – always. If you are going by my order is always the Iced Anti-Anxiety Matcha with Coconut Rice Milk and a White Truffle thing that I am blanking on the name of that is a weekly essential if I am to stay even remotely happy.
As referenced at the beginning I had a rather wobbly start to the winter season – namely, knee pain. Turns out my knee is strong but my old slipped disk is not. Add in a decidedly more flat left foot and I think we call can agree that was a recipe for disaster. That being said I jumped into action as I am not going to do what I tell others off for doing and run myself into agony. I went to my absolute best recco for physio in Berlin (expensive but worth every penny) to get a proper poke and prod to find out what was up and got myself a plan of action. Then to top off the recovery vibe, when I had back pain went for a massage at this adorable lil massage place and it will now be my go-to. They cracked me like a glowstick and got rid of all my pain in just 60 minutes. Witches, maybe. Either way, I can’t gatekeep the joy it’s brought me.
Foodwise the past weeks have been filled with good food but best of all was trying a new dumpling dish. I needed something quick and flavorful to make my vegan angel happy but that I would also not be sick of – and I hate so many of the vegan staples, soz. Anyway, here’s what we did and it was super easy and delish and totally adaptable by adding any dumplings you want. I will admit I poured out a bit of the sauce into a smaller dish to try it with some pork dumplings and was delighted at the result. Kimchi dumplings were also a massive flavorfest. Please try and report back if it was a hit for you, too.
With festive things creeping up ever-faster, obv I am back on my crafting bullshit. Took me about ten minutes to master my snowflakes so don’t be surprised if you get a fistful of knitted snowflakes this year or if you catch me crocheting in weird places until the big day. This year’s festivities are already underway as I have been to my first christmas markets and have tasted the sweet sweet nectar that is gluhwein. I am certainly not done with that yet, and I am still not over the cute ponies at the medival market. The little one made me want to sob deeply.
My friends and I had a lively debate about the Vogue Boyfriend Article and my own piece I wrote in response. This might sounds like nothing but do you know how gorgeous it is to have your friends a) read your work and b) discuss it with you? I honestly felt electric. On the subject of, writing I have also had massive creative blockers going around in my noggin so I have taken to reading more in a bid to fill my brain with words and inspo. Book recommendations are welcome – my next up already are Frankenstein and Sally Rooney’s Intermezzo as advised by my angels.
That’s all. Find joy. Talk soon xoxo

Girl I love all this, sounds like you’ve had so much to be happy about lately. Goals.
